Welcome January 2020, and the new year our receive with the new CU for SharePoint 2019 On-Premises.
SharePoint Server 2019 is patched with a language dependent and a language independent fix.
The next KB article is available for download:
- KB 4484224 – January 2020 update for SP Server 2019 (language independent)
- There was no language dependent fix release this month. The most recent language dependent fix is KB 4484176 from December 2019 (I proceed to install this one).
In this CU is important to install both fixes (language dependent & independent) to fully patch a SharePoint On-Premises.
All the packages are the same language, no matter which language you pick on the download center.
So, let’s continue with patching out server.
First, check the actual version .
A good practice is to create a backup before apply any changes in your servers.
Now, after our server is already backup, continue with executing the CU file. I need to install the KB 4484176 because on December I was on vacation.
Check the license terms and click on Continue.
Please wait, it takes a couple seconds, trust me.
Done, and is not necessary to restart the server.
Let’s continue with the last KB 4484224.
Again, accept the license terms and click on Continue.
This KB it takes more time, so be patient.
With this KB it is necessary to restart the server, so let’s Click on Yes.
After rebooting the server, let’s continue to fully patching the SharePoint Server 2019.

Check the Build Version.
Then navigate to our SharePoint sites to validate that it’s working.
